Member of Parliament for South Manchester, Michael Stewart is calling for closer monitoring of bauxite mining communities in his constituency after what he describes as ongoing breaches by the bauxite companies.
This was among the many appeals made by the MP during his state of the Constituency address yesterday in the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, the South Manchester MP is appealing for greater assistance for the Duff House/New Forest Agro park which he says has not realized its full potential.
Mr. Stewart also says another agro park facility in the constituency has been unused for five years.
He says the park is in need of new equipment so it can become operational and used by farmers especially in times of glut.
The MP also made an appeal for more assistance to undergo road rehabilitation works in key tourist areas and business districts.
Mr. Stewart also lamented that several of the police stations within his constituency are without a service vehicle.
