Family, friends, and fans bid their final farewell to percussionist and the last original member of the Dragonaires, Carl Brady.

The Thanksgiving Service was held on Wednesday at St. Peter and Paul Church on Old Hope Road in Kingston.

Industry players in attendance include Tommy Cowan, Desi Young, Frankly Campbell of Fab 5, Neville Hinds, Hopeton Williams, and Errol Bailey.

In 1950, Byron Lee and his friend Carl Brady formed the band taking its name from the St. George’s College football team for which they played.

In 2014, Carl Brady received the Order of Distinction, Officer Class (OD) for his contribution to the Jamaican music industry.

Brady died at the age of 91 in a Florida hospital after breaking his hip.

He was cremated.
